Project Description

This back garden was like any other in the street – lots of lawn, and planting along the fenceline. It was in for a shock!

We formed a diagonal grid in the design to create a feeling of openness and give the impression of size. Limestone and slate flagstones formed the new surfaces, and we built low walls to provide some seating and add a different dimension to the garden. Cedar screens were commissioned, and these create a separate ‘room’ in the garden that houses a small vegetable plot.

The two feature plants used were multi-stemmed Amelanchier, which produce a pinky flush of leaves in early spring.

The new space is stylish and modern, ready for those long summer days.
