Project Description

This property is on Australia’s Sunshine Coast and is set between the canals and the ocean. The brief was for a complete redesign, the clients desiring a more contemporary space to complement the recently completed makeover of their home. The pictures here show the side entrance, one of the three areas that we transformed.

To start with we had to clear the unwanted planting and correct the ground levels, which was made easier using narrow-access machinery.

The structural work for the project comprised increasing the height of the brick garden wall, then rendering and painting it to match the house. Next we built a timber deck to create a more inviting entrance, and a bespoke tropical ash screen to add some division to the garden.

Clump-forming bamboo was planted along the boundary for screening and protection from the morning sun. We used Lomandra (a native grass) along the walkway edge to enhance the contemporary feel.
